Nikhil Job

Dr Nikhil Job is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Gregor Mendel Institute of Molecular Plant Biology (GMI) in Vienna, Austria, a position he has held since 2023. Prior to this, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Molecular Biosciences department at The University of Texas at Austin from 2022 to 2023. Nikhil completed his PhD at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) in Bhopal from 2016 to 2022, following his earlier role as a Project Assistant at the same institution from 2015 to 2016. He pursued his BS-MS dual degree from 2010 to 2015 at IISER Bhopal. Nikhil's research interests span several areas of plant biology, including photobiology, plant development, stress biology, and meristem development. His academic achievements include receiving the EMBO travel grant in 2024, the Young Scientist award in Plant Sciences at the 36th M.P. Young Scientist Congress in 2021, and attending the 11th HOPE meeting with Nobel laureates in Okinawa, Japan, in 2019.He also qualified CSIR NET and GATE in 2016.
