Dr. Sandeep Das is a SERB-National Post-Doctoral Fellow at the University of Calicut. He did his PhD on Amphibians of Eravikulam National Park from Kerala Forest Research Institute. His primary interests are amphibian and reptilian taxonomy and biology. He is also an EDGE Fellow and EDGE Hero awardee of the Zoological Society of London, working towards conserving the Endangered Mahabali Frog _Nasikabatrachus sahyadrensis_. Beyond his research endeavours, Dr. Das actively engages in conservation efforts. He serves as a trainer and committee member for the snake rescue and rehabilitation guidelines program initiated by the Kerala Forest Department. Outside academia, Dr. Das is an enthusiastic traveller and nature photographer driven by a passion for documenting and raising awareness about lesser-known fauna.
