Dr Vivek Philip Cyriac is a postdoctoral fellow at the Centre for Ecological Sciences at IISc Bangalore since 2021. He will further his research as a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at the Natural History Museum in London from 2025 to 2027. Vivek completed his PhD at IISER Thiruvananthapuram from 2014 to 2019, with his research interests encompassing taxonomy and systematics, molecular phylogenetics, phylogenetic comparative methods, macroevolution, predator-prey interactions, and reptile behavioural ecology. His exemplary work in forest ecology earned him the Dr. Chandrasekharan Memorial Award. He has also been recognized with several prestigious fellowships, including the National Postdoctoral Fellowship from the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), India, and the Institute of Eminence Postdoctoral Fellowship at IISc Bangalore. Additionally, the Gans Collection and Charitable Fund awarded Vivek a full travel grant to attend the 9th World Herpetology Congress in New Zealand in January 2020. His collaborative efforts have also secured Rufford's Small Grant, where he served as a co-PI on the project.
